SPECIFIC PROGRAMME TO PROMOTE NEW SSI UNITS AS WELL AS
REVIVAL OF SICK UNITS IN N.E. STATES

1. Credit Guarantee Scheme:
   
   The Credit Guarantee Fund Scheme for Small Industries envisages provision of guarantees to the extent of 75% in respect of credit facilities up to a maximum of Rs. 25 lakh extended by the eligible banks (and other lending institutions), which have registered with the Credit Guarantee Fund Trust for Small Industries (CGTSI) as Member Lending Institutions (MLIs), to the SSI units and Small Scale Service and Business (Industry Related) Enterprises (SSSBEs), without any collateral security and/ or third party guarantee. The Scheme is being operated by the Credit Guarantee Fund Trust for Small Industries (CGTSI), set up by the Government of India and Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI).

OTHER DEVELOPMENTAL ACTIVITIES IN NORTH EAST REGION

1. Setting up of Tool Room Training Centre (TRTC) at Guwahati
   
   Office of DC(SSI) is setting up a tool Room & Training Centre at Guwahati for providing Technological assistance to the Small Scale Industries of North East Region. The tool room is presently under implementation. However, they have started imparting training in CAD/CAM and CNC Machining at SISI Campus Guwahati. During the month the Centre has conducted an integrated course in manufacturing Technology Auto CAD and Unigraphics in which 14 trainees have been trained. Further, one month EDP on Welding and Steel Fabrication has been started at TRTC, Guwahti, by SISI, Guwahati from 17th Jan. 2005.



2. Mini Tool Room & Training Centre at Agartala
   
   A mini Tool Room & Training Centre is being set up at Agartala by State Govt. of Tripura with Central Assistance. An agreement has been signed with Central Tool Room & Training Centre(CTTC), Kolkata and Tripura Industrial Development Corporation Ltd. to render project management functions for setting up of Mini Tool Room at Agartala on 14.1.05.



3. Entrepreneurship Development, Management Development Training Programmes & Motivation Campaigns organized in North Eastern Region
   
   During the month 2 Entrepreneurship Development Programme and 2 Motivation Campaigns were organized in different parts of North Eastern Region and altogether 200 persons participated.
   
   During the year commutatively 28 Entrepreneurship Development Programmes, 25 Management Development Programmes and 38 Motivational Campaigns were organized up to the month of January 2005 and altogether 4800 persons took part in the programmes.
